To be a member of SOS:

  • an attorney cannot have worked for more than 6-months in the legal field after being admitted to the Bar prior to starting their own law practice; or
  • an attorney cannot have clerked for more than 1 year after being admitted to the Bar prior to starting their own law practice.

Current members of SOS are grandfathered in and do not need to meet the above criteria to remain members.

If a potential member does not meet the above criteria, the potential member can appeal to the Board for a waiver.  The Board will consider exceptions at the next scheduled Board Meeting.

Yearly membership cost is $25, payable by January 15th.
